March Meeting Notes:

The meeting took place on March 9 at the church.  Attendees were Jeanne Chandler, Barbara McCollum, Karin Larsen, Matthew Titus, Pastor Cook, and Portia Dischinger.

The meeting was opened by Matt with a prayer of thanks to God for our ability to meet and plan and worship together.

Events that have taken place in the last month include the following:

1.        Everyone enjoyed pancake supper!  Thanks so much for all the help, especially Cheryl and Jeanne and Megan.

2.      a.       Signups going well.  Thanks to all providers or soup or sandwiches!

b.      VDC Groups – thanks so much for help setting up.

c.       Jennifer:  Thanks for helping out with supplies.

3.      “Soul Food” Kickoff

a.       Conducted temple talks on February 14

b.      Signups completed – 30 participating (couples and singles)

c.       Dinner on 2/28, Sunday evening, at the church went very well

d.      Think most groups have a first activity planned.

Other planning and notes include:

4.      The St. Patrick’s Day progressive dinner will not be held this year, due to Spring Break schedules.

5.      Easter Planning

a.       March 29 Food for Faith Presbyterian noon meal – details to come but ASLC will need to provide for the Monday meal (food and servers, probably).

b.      Easter Egg Hunt

                                                  i.      Mary Lynn to coordinate

                                                ii.      Youth to help

iii.      Riders will  provide Easter bunnies

c.       Sunrise Service

                                                  i.      Will be held at ASLC at 6:30 am.  We will work with other churches to provide light breakfast and juice and coffee

6.      Coffee House – We have learned that Ditto Landing is too expensive.  So we consider other locations during the summer months.

7.      Margie Cook is planning to hold a Garden party for the women of the church.  We have suggested May 15 (rain date is 5/16).  We will be placing a signup sheet out for this.

8.      We are targeting 4/24 for a Hard Times Party.  Details and location will be forth coming soon. We are planning to cook a “hard luck” stew on the spot – should be lots of fun!

The next Fellowship Meeting is currently planned for April 13. The meeting ended with the group offering the Lord’s Prayer.

Respectfully submitted,

Portia Dischinger
